# Nexus Desktop

> Download Nexus Desktop for macOS and connect Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, and your other AI tools to Nexus Auto with one switch, no terminal needed.

## Download

> [card] [Download for macOS](https://nexus.fireworks.ai/desktop/download/darwin-universal/latest)
>
> Universal build for Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Linux and Windows support is coming soon. Until then, use the [Nexus CLI](https://docs.fireworks.ai/nexus/cli.md) on those systems.

* Nexus Desktop is also available from [nexus.fireworks.ai/download](https://nexus.fireworks.ai/download).

## Set up

**1. Install**

Open the `.dmg` and drag Nexus to your Applications folder.

**2. Sign in**

Open Nexus and sign in with your [Nexus account](https://docs.fireworks.ai/nexus/plans.md). Sign-in opens in your browser.

**3. Turn on your tools**

Turn on each tool you use, then restart that tool. Nexus Auto (`auto`) appears in its model picker.

Nexus Desktop: turn on Fireworks in each app

To restore your original setup, turn the tool off and restart it.

## What you can connect

Nexus Desktop connects the same tools as the Nexus CLI, including Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor IDE, VS Code, OpenCode, Pi, Copilot, and DeepSeek Harness. [Claude Desktop](https://docs.fireworks.ai/nexus/harnesses/claude-desktop.md) has limited support. What works in each tool is listed in [Harness support](https://docs.fireworks.ai/nexus/harnesses.md).

## Nexus Desktop or Nexus CLI

* **Nexus Desktop:** a desktop app that requires no command line. It runs on macOS. Linux and Windows support is coming soon.
* **Nexus CLI:** a command-line tool for developers and scripted setups. It runs on macOS and Linux. Windows support is limited: install and run it from Git Bash.

You can use both. They read the same settings, so a tool you turn on in one shows as on in the other.
